Synopsis
The story takes place in the Qing Dynasty, revolving around the Sung and Leung Family.. KWAN WAI LAN (Nancy Sit) is the owner of a small business with LEUNG JING YIU as her eldest son (Bowie Lam), LEUNG JING HONG her second son (Sunny Chan), third daughter LEUNG SAU MAN (Casper Chan) and youngest daughter LEUNG SAU YIN (Cilla Kung). YIU originally was a worker at the Jiujiang brewery but due to a natural disaster, rewrote the lives of the Leung and Sung family.

Sung family’s daughter, SUNG CHI CHING (Linda Chung), the third mistress DING KA BIK (Elena Kong) and eldest son SUNG CHI CHUN (Pierre Ngo) were seperated. The Sung family decided to adopt YIU as their son and looked after the business. HONG thought YIU became the Sung family’s son for the sake of wealth.

Just when business for the Jiujiang wine brewery were going well, Sung family’s long lost son returns and wants to claim back ownership of the business. This results in a major feud between the Leung and the Sungs.

Finally, when YIU tied the marriage between CHING and HONG, he was ready to return ownership back to the Sungs. Sadly, his best friend TSANG YUK FONG (Sire Ma)’s father (Lau Kong) causes downfall to the family. The Sung family business is stolen, luckily HONG helps the family rebuild their business. The Sung and Leungs calm their feud.

Synopsis

Synopsis

Despite the fact that he comes from a long line of disciplined workers, LAW YIU-WAH (Moses Chan) is a teacher of a notorious school. One day, he was urged to resign after being vilified by his students as a peeping Tom.

At present, the triads have expanded their drug network at local schools. WAH, who has turned a cop, is told to go undercover at the school where he used to teach.

With a determination to boost students’ confidence, SUET invites bowling expert KOO KA-LAM (Linda Chung) to teach bowling at the school.

When LAM learns about her triad background, he decides to go after her hoping to learn more about the triads. LAM also finds himself in a contest of wits with Inspector CHING MAN-LIK (Ron Ng), who has been assigned to work as a liaison officer at the school.

On one hand, MAN is attracted to SUET but on the other, she only loves WAH. All of a sudden, WAH, SUET, LAM and LIK find themselves involved in a complicated love polygon.

Comments: This series come off a good start, but hopefully it stay with a good plot. Lately some of the series have head a bit down hill toward the middle of the series.

Synopsis

In the meantime, the chairman of the company TSEUNG SUM (Woo Fung), suffers a stroke. When he is in a coma, his playboy grandson TSEUNG YIK (Raymond Lam) gets fired from work but due to Fa’s kindness, Yik does not end up on the street. It does not take long for Fa and Yik to fall in love with each other.

However, when Sum comes around, he strongly opposes their “abnormal” relationship. Unwillingly, Yik breaks up with Fa and returns to the life which everybody perceives as normal.

Comments: Throught there is quite some complains about this series, but I'm looking toward this series. It a simple series with simple plot without alot other input problems to make your mind spin

Comments: Law series is back being popular. Hopefully this one will be more focus on laws and lawyers, unlike Survivor's Law, a series that is more on comedy base. Other Moylie play a lawyer in Survivor's Law, so she have no trouble with the role she playing in this series.

Plot:
Deokman (Queen Seondeok’s childhood name) was born as Princess Cheonmyeong's twin and a member of the Silla royal family, but a prophecy leads to her abandonment as a baby. She was later brought back to the Silla palace, where she joined forces with her twin sister to oppose Mi-shil, a royal concubine who wanted to seize power. Mi-shil devised sinister plans to have the two Silla princesses exiled from the kingdom, and in a secretive battle, she assassinated Princess Cheonmyeong. But Princess Deokman shrewdly enlisted the help of General Kim Yusin and eliminated, Mi-shil, becoming the first female ruler of the Silla kingdom.

A Korean series I'm looking forward to watching when I'm free. A good series that is getting good comments from friends that watched this. I couldn't resist and bought it on ebay which have the canto audio that I wanted.

Lately, I have been busy and on top I just busy. Today I have a bit of free time so I just make some post. Quite a few today. The series update that I have missed posting and this one. A bit of what series I have going through. Lately the series that TVB or rather the series they have release in the last 2 years. So far the only I think it is more meaningful is A Fistful of Stances. The only complaints is the flushback is often. I wish they have a long flushback rather going back and forth between the years.

In between the times of watching tvb newer series, I have been watching older series. Lately ATV have released also of their series in DVD. Some are worthed watching. ATV's history based series are better TVB's

The current two I'm following are:

Empress Wu 武則天

One of Chinese history's most fascinating and divisive figures, China's one and only female emperor Wu Zetian is a name for the ages. Synopsis:

Synopsis:

Huan Zhu Ge Ge/Princess of Returning Pearl to be remade

At first, we all thought it was a joke. Huan Zhu Ge Ge has been a stable of Hunan TV, and many look forward to the trilogy every summer for the past 12 years. And still, it has yet lost its appeal and remains a viewer-getter.

Yet as the official news stack up, it seems to be real. Hunan TV’s editor-in-chief Li Hao even gave an interview about it. Of course, that could be false or done for an alternate purpose, too. It also seems to make sense that the one of the reasons for the new drama is the fact that Hunan TV’s gone HD, which means that HZGG will look fairly weak compared to other dramas broadcasted.

According to ihunantv, the new HZGG will encompass all three seasons in a long, 80-episode-drama. The plot will also be changed by Qiong Yao* herself. Cast is yet undecided, and it’s still uncertain whether eeMedia or Nesound (or both) will be filming the drama.

*NOTE: Qiong Yao is the original author of HZGG.

Synopsis

Flora Chan Returns to TVB to Film New Series

A costume fitting for TVB’s new series, “Searching for Lasting Love” 《搜下留情》was held yesterday. The series will star Flora Chan Wai San, Joe Ma Tak Chung, and Sharon Chan Man Chi. After a 6 year hiatus, Flora will reunite with Joe Ma since their last cooperation in “Triumph in the Skies” 《衝上雲霄》.

Joe Ma and the Producer presented Flora with a bouquet of flowers and a TV Buddy doll to welcome her back to TVB. Flora indicated that her one-year-old daughter was well-behaved and clever. Earlier, Flora had to take care of her daughter on a 24 hour basis. Since her daughter is older now, Flora hopes she will be more independent. Flora decided to film for TVB due to her interest in acting, [as well as the belief that some separation from her daughter will be beneficial].

Flora’s character will deviate from her normal professional roles. In “Searching for Lasting Love,” Flora will play a reformed street-wise character. Regarding her filming fee, Flora laughed and said she did not know. Reporters should ask the Producer or her manager. Did Flora have any her expectations for her comeback series? Flora said she will not dwell on the matter, as many elements were beyond her control.

Well, lately I'm too lazy to post. Other reason is that I'm still haven't been watching the new series that is airing. I wanted to wait until all three almost finished airing. Since all three is close to finish airing, I will have no problem having something to watch to keep busy. Rosy Business will the first one to first airing that will be the first one I will be watching. Rosy Business is also the most talked about series. So in the meanwhile, I will be watching American TV. Currently, I'm watching Charmed. A tv series about witches and supernatural. Next will be catching up with One Tree Hill.

Apparently Elanne Kong doesn't keep a very well image of herself. Or she just too busy? As a artist they need to keep a good image of herself. I'm not talking about healthy image that a star need to keep for fans. I'm talking about appearances image. From the information about her, Elanne is in the entertainment circle for a while, but still kind of new. Even she busy she should still take the time to shave. So far i haven't seen an artist that haven't shave when there are chances of the camera will be right at their underarm.

Filming Beyond the Realm of Conscience is a pain

Tavia Yeung, Charmaine Sheh and Selena Li were involved with the filming of new TVB drama, Beyond the Realm of Conscience. The series is a period drama and the cast are required to be decked in period costumes. Not only the clothes and shoes but this time around, headgears are also required. Tavia has to constantly hold on to her headgear when filming and explained that the headgear is too heavy. It was revealed that her headgear weighs 4 kilograms! Tavia says, "For this series, the most difficult part is that my headdress is too heavy, right now my neck is swollen, each night I would have to treat it with medication."

Selena Li, on the other hand, needs more than the headgear. As her character is pregnant, she need additional padding for her chest area as well as stomach. Selena is excited to be playing a pregnant woman as she explains, "This is the first time I'm a pregnant woman in an ancient series!" However, Selena shares that among the three additional items, the headgear is the most uncomfortable. "it's so heavy that half the time I'm forgetting my lines, it's due to it being in the way," she says.

Charmaine Sheh takes wearing the headgear and pain all in her stride. So how come she has it easier that the others? Charmaine reveals, "At this point in the series, I'm still a low level person, so I don't have as much on my head. When I become a concubine, I will have to wear the headdress as well, I'm kind of afraid that my head will be in pain then."

A good series with good cast and an interesting storyline. It a bit like DIF, in this series Damian Lau is trying to find the mystery of his wife death with the help of Bowie Lam.

A Stage of Turbulence 刀馬旦

Cast: Vivian Chow, Sunny Chan, Patrick Tam, Law Lok Kam, Fiona Leung, Roman Tam and Joyce Koi

One of Vivian Chow rare series with tvb. Set in the 1950s, I think. It talks about a group of women trying to a name for themselves in the Chinese opera. But they have a hard time, because women then still aren't allow to preform on stage.

Burning Flame I & II 烈火雄心

Through it not made too long ago, but it worth rewatching. Other is cast in the series that I like.

Into more of the series, the series have been picking up more excitement. Then it is also long series. But the storyline hasn't turn downhill. The story forces on both the romances and wars of the cast. In the Gem of Life, it have force on the romance too much. The battle of the companies seem to be too much to understand. At that time, Gallen Lo is still playing villain roles. Watching him as the villain, well it is impress. There also the love triangle between the casts, while watching the series, there is the wondering of who will be ending up with who.

EU is definitely the more exciting series of TVB. Unfortunately, I think it could be better. Picky aren't I? Ron Ng maybe hot head, after so long in the police, he should able to change. In the police force, police have know they have follow orders from their Superior. I don't see that in Ron. Micheal Tse a very intersting characther. His characther Launghing was undercover for nine years. When it at the third of the series, if Laughing choosen to return to the police force, I'm sure there will be more excitment in the series. There will be more battle between the police and the gangsters.

Series production is also affected and they struggle to reduce the cost as precaution against the financial crisis which shows no indication of ending. However the usually cost cutting TVB have invested heavily into two grand productions – [Beyond the Realm of Conscience] and [Born Rich]. They even set up a grand stage promoting the series during Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FILMART) at HKCEC recently. TVB never slack off in their promotional activities and the cast appeared in colorful costumes amidst the warm temperature. Even though they keep smiling, they are actually sweating profusely in the back, making many reporters who are wearing T-shirt and Bermudas feel admirable. [Beyond] cast consist of two pair fadan and siusang, with Charmaine Sheh, Kevin Cheng, Tavia Yeung, and Moses Chan leading the others to appear at the event. According to Stephen Chan’s introduction, the series invested heavily in the set and wardrobe, hoping to reproduce the original grandeur of Dynasty Tang. Charmaine Sheh who is portraying Sam Ho appeared delicate yet elegant in her sweeping pastel pink dress and hair gently combed up – bringing out the personality of her character in the series.

Sam Ho sworn sister in the series; Yiu Kam Ling is portrayed by Tavia Yeung. She wore the same costume and hairstyle as Charmaine. Compared to Charmaine's understated elegance, Tavia’s make up is more colorful with her drawn eyebrow and pinkish glow, making her prettier than flower. As for their escorts Kevin Cheng and Moses Chan, they both wore elaborate costumes. Kevin Cheng portrays [Sir] Gao who is talented in both poetry and martial arts. His costumes reflect gallantry while not lacking refinement. As for Moses Chan, he portrays the esteemed emperor, therefore his costume naturally feel commanding and powerful. Compared to his role Gam Wing Ho in [MR], Moses has gained some weight but this is appropriate for his role in the series. You won't feel convinced seeing a skinny man wearing emperor's robe. On the other hand Michelle Yim and Susanna Kwan wore intricate official costumes, the splendor is indescribable. The cast successfully stole everyone's attention and reporters keep on snapping their pictures. TVB actually film plenty of series annually, why are TVB emphasizing on this two series? Since recovering from her illness, Maggie’s work attitude has changed dramatically. "While filming outdoor scenes in the past, I tried to avoid using outdoor toilets. Thus I would not eat nor drink the entire day. I had high demands for myself and people that I worked with, such as the make-up artists, hairstylists, lighting crew, etc. Many people felt that I was a difficult person to work with. I did not spare other people, nor did I spare myself. I put myself under immense pressure.”

“However, my health turn a drastic turn. At the time, if there was ‘gold on the ground,’ I wouldn’t have been able to pick it up. Designer handbags were no longer necessary. At that point, I realized you can not be so stubborn in life. You need to look at things from multiple angles. Since her health recovered, Maggie wanted to try different jobs to broaden her scope of vision. She accepted a role in a movie and filming is expected to start within two months. However, her new filming projects are an attempt to satisfy her own desires, without the ambition to win awards. “Of course awards would make me happier. Maggie has become more health conscious now. Aside from focusing on skin whitening, she will set aside time to detoxify her body. "Every night, I make sure to sleep before 12 midnight, to allow my liver to detoxify my body properly. Each month, I will set aside one or two days for full-body detoxification. I will only drink juice and not eat other food. If I become hungry, then I will just go to sleep. My skin improved as a result too!”

While filming 《更上一層樓》, Maggie met and fell in love with current boyfriend, Tsang Anbang, who works in the financial industry. Yesterday Kiki Sheung, Bowie Lam, Jessica Hsuen, Joyce Tang, Macy Chan and JJ attented the promotion event for TVB new series "Pearl In Palm". The female artists wore sponsored jewelry worth billion of dollars. Macy Chan wore the most expensive jewelry, estimated as 5.5 million (HKD). Kiki Sheung, on the other hand wore a $100,000 (HKD) black pearl ring. She asked the sponsors if she could buy the ring at half price and to her surprise they agreed. The deal was made straight away.

Kenneth Ma's 'Man in Charge' to Broadcast on April 6, 2009

TVB will be airing “Man in Charge” 《幕後大老爺》next Monday. The series stars Kenneth Ma, Kate Tsui, Leila Tong, and Matthew Ko. The cast members attended an event to promote the series. Kate and Kenneth wore traditional Chinese bride and groom costumes. When the press asked the pair to kiss for the camera, Kenneth and Kate puckered their lips and pretended to kiss, drawing laughter from all present.

In “Man in Charge,” Kate has numerous martial arts sequences. She hopes that the ratings will break the record of her previous series, “Speech of Silence.” Kenneth also hoped that “Man in Charge” will duplicate the success of “Speech of Silence” which pulled in 30 points in ratings.

Kenneth will be involved in a love triangle with Kate and Leila Tong in “Man in Charge.” He joked that he was a true player. EU Ending - Original Vs. Alt.

Because Of the popularity of Laughing, TVB decided to edit the last episode to show Laughing putting on an police uniform. For many this ending is better than the original, but to me the original is better. The original Laughing death have purpose for the series. If it changes the purpose changes. Then seeing him not dead, it somehow me a bit happy because he doesn't deserved to dead that.

Other, the alt ending gives a opening to another installment to The Academy series. I'm not such if an good ideal for TVB to do so. This year most series are installment to previous series. It tells and remind why I shouldn't be watching TVB anymore. Then again I keep watching.

Last Friday a 2 hour finale of “E.U.” was broadcast, the average ratings was 36 points. The last 2 minutes of the ending reached 43 points! But TVB received 10 complaints unrealistic.

“Laughing Gor” Michael Tse was filming for new series “The Pride of My Husband” at a car garage in Tseung Kwan O. Towards to great ratings, Michael feels very happy about it. He frankly said that he is very satisfied because recently it is rare to have ratings reaching the 40 point mark, to him it is a huge encouragement. As to viewers complaining about the ending being too unrealistic, he said that the last bit was mainly to introduce that there are intentions for the production of part 4. But in part 4, he currently does not know what role he will have, maybe he’ll use a gangster status to investigate cases. Will he celebrate the success personally? Michael expressed that he won’t. But he knows that TVB will be having an event for him, to meet with the Netizens and he will appear as “Laughing Gor” to the event. Because Michael’s license was suspended from drinking and driving, he expressed that all of his driving scenes in the series will be subsitituted by someone else. There are some Netizens that complained about the scene with Laughing Gor coming back to life in the “E.U.” Finale, Stephen said: “There are two different voices. The last bit was to satisfy the viewers’ request, giving a chance for everyone to see Laughing Gor again. Actually the ending never said that Laughing Gor came back to life, it is only his spirit. Unusually I don't do a lot of post at once, but this post I have been meaning to put up a few days of ago. Wanting to give series of a bit of a though. True to tell, I haven't even start to watch it yet. After the second installment I'm not sure if the third installment is going to be good or not. Since the second installment is a bit out of place and have a bad ending to it Almost to the half of the series, I have been seeing positive news and post for this series. Now I'm just waiting for it to finishing airing before airing. Usually I wait for series to finish airing because I want to skip boring parts. In this case I didn't want to wait for the next episode, if it ends in a really exciting part.

Plot:
FAN TUNG (Liu Kai Chi) is one of the four deities under the Stove God. He has offended the Queen Mother of the West of being ravenous and gets imprisoned for 500 years in the winter melon. Well like Linda Cheung, Kate Tsui came out with her first song. I'm not much too please about her singing. Though her voice is not too bad when it is speaking. Here the song below. Like a lot artist today. They can't sing well so they used music to drown out a lot of the voice, so you can't barely hear their singing. In this case, the music have make hard to tell if it really her voice in the video singing.

Greatness Of A Hero

Halfway into the series, I think it a pretty entertaining series. Different people will have different view on the series. From time to time, the series is a bit dragging for me. Other, it very enjoyable to watch. The only thing I have to say is Bernice acting in ancient series. Ancient Series didn't fit too well with her, unless it a character like the character in Virtues Of Harmony. Bernice can't seem to bring out the tough side of the character she is playing.

Classic Songs Of TVB Series

There are so many songs that are classics. To me classic songs are from the older days of tvb series. Not only the songs are classics, so is the series itself is a true classic.

Looking Back In Anger - The theme song sung by Danny Chan. This series is still know and popular for it tragic ending.

Down Memory Lane - Theme Song Sung By Andy Lau, the theme song matches the series. This series is set in the early 1900’s tells the cruel treatment lives of Chinese Workers at that time. At that time these work are known as “piglets” [豬仔].

Time Before Time - A sweet ghost/human relationship. It was a hit with the audiences, it have inspired several ghost/human relations series. The theme song sung by Anita Mui fits the relationship in the series.

Song Bird - Based on a true story about a actress. The series about her raise and fall of her career in the 1940s and 1950s. The main theme for series was orinially in Mandarin Main and sub themes are sung by Nnadia Chan, her cd (same name as the series) is a best seller when it was released.

The Vampire Returns - This series is not really a classic, but it is very entertaining to watch this series. Also one of Sammi Cheung rare appearance in tvb series. The song for the series I think is a classic.

Happy Ever After - A very enjoyable series to watch. When this series was made, it have made cooking series popular. Afterward there quite a few series about cooking follows. The theme sung by Roman Tam is quite catchy and enjoyable to listen to.

Synopsis

The all-conquering snooker player YAU YAT KIU (Adam Cheng) takes everyone by surprise when he suddenly retires from the snooker world. This comes as a huge disappointed to her daughter YAU KA KAN (Niki Chow), who has always wanted to follow in his footsteps. She feels bewildered too, for although KIU pretends he does not care about the snooker any more, he has set up an extremely difficult game in his restaurant. His purpose cannot be more obvious: he is waiting for someone to solve the game. KIU comes to know KAN TSZ HIM (Patrick Tang) by chance. Noticing his flair for the snooker, KIU decides to make an exception for HIM and teaches HIM all he knows about the game. Later, KAN manages to persuade her father into taking her in as well.

HIM fancies KAN, but she is fond of LUI KIN CHUNG, KIU’s bitter foe (Derek Kwok). CHUNG is a crafty person. In order to win the game, he fools around with HIM’s aunt CHIN TO TO (Joyce Tang), who is also HIM’s manager. HIM falls out with KIU because of CHUNG. Both master and disciple come to settle their scores on a snooker-table in the end.

Kevin Cheng planning to elope with Charmaine Sheh

Last evening Kevin Cheng and rumored girlfriend Charmaine Sheh arrived at Sheung Shui Kam Tsin Village to film [Beyond the Realm of Conscience]. Charmaine look striking in her low cut costume but the two of them rarely interact, seemingly afraid of spreading rumors again. The scene is about Kevin seeking Charmaine to elope together. In real life, both of them expressed that they are the type who dares to love and hate!

Kevin and Charmaine became the limelight since accepting to film this series. The scene narrates Charmaine releasing wishing lantern by the lake and Kevin who is playing the chess master discussed about eloping. In the end both of them stayed in order to assist Moses who is playing a king. When not filming, they do not interact and elude each other. (Note: King is not emperor)

When Kevin was asked if he considered eloping in real life, he laughed: "Hong Kong is not in feudal era, now everyone have the freedom to love." Kevin self-admitted that he is someone who dares to love and hate. Will he sacrifice his career for love like Francois Huynh? "I've never encountered such circumstance; I will let you know when I encounter it. Plus, everybody have different personalities." Kevin was also asked why he looked a little evasive with Charmaine. "We'll chat if there's something to talk about. We won't avoid each other because of the rumors. You can't expect us to deliberately find a meaningless topic to chat right?"

When Charmaine doesn't need to film, she quickly wrapped herself with a fleece blanket to avoid getting cold. She explained that the costumes in this series era are a bit thin and a little revealing. Asked if she dare to wear the costumes in [Curse of the Golden Flower], Charmaine laughed: "No I won't. Those are movies, mine are following TV standards." Mentioning that Kevin is a person who dares to love and hate, is she the same? "That depends if the opposite party is worth it. I'm more daring when I'm younger, because I have more 'bargaining chips'. My bargaining chips dwindled for my current age."

Has that worthy person appeared? She indicates that she would like him to appear soon. Someone like this has appeared in the past, but now has gone. She frankly said that she presently won't give up career for love. This is because she fears boredom, even if she's married she hope her future husband will allow her to film one series per year, unless she needs to take care of children. Regarding Francois sacrificing for love, Charmaine expressed that everybody have different perspectives in life. She prefers her career at the moment. Why is she keeping a distance from Kevin? "No, why mention rumors, so boring. We do not evade each other, we are just working."

Time Before Time a series made in 1997 by TVB. When it was aired it was a huge hit with the audiences. I can said that even oversea fans are became a fan of this beautiful, romantic, and memorable story of a ghost and a human. After this series, TVB have tried to make series with the same ground, but it not a huge hit as Time Before Time.

Seven Sisters is also about ghost and human relationships. Even there new roles and the main leads are both humans, but I found it too similar to Time Before Time. It seemed like they just put in the parts of Time Before Time in. Like Florence Kwok in this series, I have to said it the same role as Time before Time. She have keep her husband from going back to his lover. But it does have some stories of it own.

Police Station No.7 is somehow entertaining to watch. But, a bit boring sometime to watch. Different storyline from Time Before Time. The Only similarity I found is the story telling part. Kathy Chow told her through the radio station. Nancy Sit told her story through a newspaper comic strip.

A Loving Spirit is least entertaining to watch I have say. When I started watching it seemed interesting enough to start off. It talks about a ghost haunting a theater in Hong Kong. It seemed interesting to found why the ghost is haunting the place. The mystery is out after a few episodes. Then it turns boring afterward. But it didn't get very exciting or interesting enough. The reason I finish is because I didn't have something better to do.

Beyond the Realm of Conscience is one of the series that I'm looking forward. This series is inspiration by Korean Series Palace Jewel. At first, when I saw the costume fitting for this series I though the costume are very Korean feel. Even through that the series is very similar to Place, it very interesting series to look forward to. Also with the strong cast in the series, I wanted to see how the storyline will go on. Here some news the contents might be similar.

What I watching?

I have just finish watching The Gem Of Life. To me longer o shorter series, It doesn't matter to me. I have most TVB series. Even Kindred Spirit, longest series that TVB have ever met. Which is a total of 1,128 episodes long. Even now I have wanted to re watch this series, but I don't know if I have that many patient and time to rewatch it.

Anyway back to The Gem Of Life, this series have a good opening. Then afterward, the series took for a turn. The seemed very long and draggy because of all of the drama between the sisters. Other is that the story line is not very fresh and too similar to series from the past. I have expect it to be more focus on the jewel industry I guess. I hope that series in the future will be more entertaining to watch.
